Parking / Transit
Vehicles are NOT PERMITTED on Memorial Drive from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021.
Free parking is available throughout campus beginning Friday at 1 p.m. through Monday at noon. This includes the Allen Fieldhouse, Central District and Mississippi Street parking garages. All KU lots will be open and free on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are 2300 parking stalls within a short walking distance of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and an additional 3000 parking stalls in proximity of Allen Fieldhouse, Murphy Hall and Burge Union.
Accessible / Limited Mobility Parking
KU has 450 accessible parking stalls across campus. Any guest with a state-issued disability-parking permit (hangtag or license plate) can access these stalls at any time Commencement weekend (Friday 1 p.m. to Monday 12 p.m.)
To accommodate limited mobility guests attending events at Allen Fieldhouse or Murphy Hall, Level 1 of the Allen Fieldhouse Parking Garage and the two lots south of the Fieldhouse will be reserved for special-needs parking on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
To accommodate limited mobility guests attending Commencement at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, accessible parking is available on the east and west sides without a state-issued disability-parking permit. Access to the east and west lots is off Fambrough Drive. A drop-off area is available and drivers can park where space is available.
A complimentary shuttle service to the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends one hour after the Commencement ceremony on Sunday. The route will serve David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, Learned Hall, the DeBruce Center, the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center, Murphy Hall and the Kansas Union.
For wheelchair-accessible transport, notify any bus driver, who will radio for a paratransit vehicle.
Note: Tailgating is not allowed in any KU parking lot and/or garage commencement weekend.
